HUNTINGTON 人妖色情片 Huntington Mayor Patrick Farrell will outline his fiscal goals for the city during the Huntington City Council regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb 10.
When he was elected in November, Farrell said the budget will reflect his priorities of public safety, infrastructure and growing the economy.
The city council will arrange budget hearings to review the mayor人妖色情片檚 suggested budget at a later date. The budget will then come before the council to approve.
In regular business, the council will consider a resolution approving a contract with Dawson-Thompson Oil Co. Inc. of Huntington to provide fuel services to the public works complex at 800 Virginia Ave. Dawson-Thompson is to provide equipment needed (tanks) to hold the fuel at its expense at the initial cost of 5,684.10 for the monitoring equipment.
Dawson-Thompson will then provide fuel at a mark up of 0.2050 cents per gallon above the wholesale price for the Ashland/Charleston region. The contract would be for one year and would automatically renew for four additional one-year terms on the anniversary date of the agreement unless cancelled by either party prior to the renewal date.
The funds will come from the Public Works Department general fund budget and the Sanitary and Trash fund budget that were both previously approved by city council.
The council will consider a resolution to renew its contract with Civic Plus for the annual renewal of the SeeClick Fix Huntington WV 311 app. SeeClick Fix is a smartphone application that allows individuals to notify the city about issues they may have and provides residents with basic information about city services.
The council will hear the second reading of an ordinance that would execute a deed transferring a right-of-way within the city to the West Virginia Department of Transportation人妖色情片檚 Division of Highways.
The council will hear the second reading of an ordinance that would vacate, close and abandon a portion of an alleyway south of 10th Avenue, east of and parallel to 20th Street. The alleyway is 120 feet long and 10 feet wide.
The council will consider resolutions to reappoint Steven Turner and Kirk Dodrillto the Huntington Municipal Parking Board and to appoint of Mark Cross and Drew Hetzer to the Huntington Municipal Parking Board.
The council will consider the appointment of Jan Rader to the reasonable accommodation appeal board and Chris Miller to the Tri-State Transit Authority Board.
The council will hear the first reading of an ordinance that would reduce the penalties charged with a late payment of refuse fees from 5% per quarter down to 2% per quarter, according to acting City Attorney Scott Damron during a public works committee meeting Jan. 27, where the ordinance was forwarded to full council with a positive recommendation.
Currently, if there is no payment of refuse fee over a year, the penalties would be 21.5% with each ensuing year being greater, Damron said.
人妖色情片淚t eventually results in compounded penalties that exceed the actual amount that is due,人妖色情片 Damron said.
The goal is not to excuse the failure to pay for services but make it more manageable for residents and achieve a balance for the correct amount of penalties to encourage payment, but to steer away from people giving up on payments, he said.
人妖色情片淲hat we found is when the penalties get too high, people just give up and don人妖色情片檛 pay anything,人妖色情片 Damron said.
Damron said reducing down to 2% would make it equivalent to what the city charges in penalties on municipal service fees.
Huntington City Council will meet in City County Chambers at Huntington City Hall.
