HUNTINGTON ÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬” Harmony House held its second Renaissance Faire on Saturday at Harris Riverfront Park.
The event featured food trucks, beer, mead, a petting zoo and crafts. There were also medieval activities like jousting, a tomato throw, horseback archery, a catapult, fencing and more.
Mary Smirl, volunteer coordinator for Harmony House and artistic director for the Huntington Area Regional Theatre, estimated by ticket sales that around 1,200 people attended the event.
Smirl said the McElroys, local hosts of several popular podcasts, recording their Adventure Zone podcast and being on site to meet fans was a big draw. One group even traveled from Alaska, she said.
She also said there were more people in costume than not.
ÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬œWe donÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™t know how much money we raised because weÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™re still in the process of counting everything and invoices and stuff like that, but itÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™s safe to say we raised a lot and more than last year, which was wonderful,ÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬 she said.
After last yearÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™s inaugural event, Olivia Zarilla, former director of development and community engagement at Harmony House, said the event raised about $27,000.
