Local communities are preparing for Independence Day, which will be on a Friday this year. Fireworks and other festivities will take place over several days across the region.
All events are free of charge except where noted.
Wednesday, July 2
HUNTINGTON: Christ Temple Church, 2400 Johnstown Road, hosts its annual Freedom Celebration. The night begins at 6:30 p.m. with a patriotic service in the church. Afterward, head outside for free inflatables, games and fun in the parking lot. Concessions will be available at a small cost (proceeds go toward ministries and missions). Fireworks will be set off at dusk. Admission is free and open to the entire community.
Thursday, July 3
HUNTINGTON: The annual Dawg Dazzle at Harris Riverfront Park will be from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3. Madhouse, a classic rock band based out of Barboursville, will open for headliner Matt Stell, a 41-year-old rising country star from Arkansas. Special guest Corey Hager from Ripley, West Virginia, will perform as well. Free tickets to the event will be available at sponsor locations across the region including Austin人妖色情片檚 Ice Cream at The Market, Dave and Buster人妖色情片檚 at the Huntington Mall, area Little Caesars and area Wendy人妖色情片檚. Tickets will also be available for $10 the day of the event. The event will conclude with a fireworks show around 9:45 p.m.
HUNTINGTON: ‘s “Red, White and Bluegrass” Pops performance with special guest artists the Johnny Staats Project begins at 7:30 p.m. at Harris Riverfront Park. Tickets are $30 for adults or $15 for children; purchase online at .
Friday, July 4
BARBOURSVILLE: A celebration is planned at Barboursville City Park from 5-10 p.m. Friday, July 4. Food trucks will begin serving food at 5 p.m. and the splash park will remain open until fireworks begin at 10 p.m.
LAVALETTE: Baker人妖色情片檚 Towing, the Lavalette Volunteer Fire Department and Giovanni人妖色情片檚 Pizza of Lavalette人妖色情片檚 Fourth of July celebration will be at 10 p.m. Friday, July 4 at the Lavalette VFD at 4502 W.Va. 152 in Lavalette. Attendees are asked to park at Tudor人妖色情片檚 Biscuit World or Food Fair to allow for more space.
HUNTINGTON: The annual Fly In 4th of July Celebration at Robert Newlon Airpark will take place on July 4 starting at 7 p.m. Music by The Carpenter Ants will start at 7 p.m. followed by a skydiving demonstration by the West Virginia Sky Divers. At dusk (around 9:30 p.m.), Paul King will put on a fireworks show. Entry to the celebration is $10 per vehicle and food and beverages will be available for purchase at concession stands and inside of Fly In Caf茅.
ASHLAND: Summer Motion hosts a free country music concert and fireworks at Riverfront Park. There will be food vendors, inflatables, and carnival rides. The Frontmen, a group consisting of former members of several country bands, will perform starting at 9 p.m. with a firework show starting at 10:15 p.m.
HURRICANE: City of Hurricane人妖色情片檚 at Hurricane Bridge Park, 1 Bridge Park Way, kicks off with a parade at 4 p.m. that begins on Midland Trail and will proceed to Main Street. Following the parade, free fun such as music, inflatables and more begins at the Putnam County Bank Sports Complex. The park entrance is beside First Baptist Church on Main Street. The event will end at 10 p.m. just as fireworks are let off from Water Tank Hill, viewable from the event area.
CHARLESTON: will be set off over the Kanawha River at Haddad Riverfront Park beginning at 9:30 p.m.
ASHLAND: The Ashland/Huntington West KOA Holiday Campsite located off Interstate 64 between Huntington and Grayson will kick off its annual July Fourth weekend, which includes music, food trucks, family friendly activities and fireworks.
GENOA: Rustic Ravines, 2575 Hampton Ridge Road, will host a family-friendly 人妖色情片淏IG-ARSE人妖色情片 Fireworks & Independence Day Celebration, with gates to open at 5 p.m. The event will feature an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet from 5-9:30 p.m.; live music from the musical artist Stratty beginning at 7 p.m.; and fireworks starting around 10 p.m. Entry at the gate is $5 for adults and free for kids. Saturday, July 5
MILTON: The City of Milton will have its annual Independence Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 5 at the Misty Rose Recreation Center Athletic Field. There will be free hotdogs and popcorn as well as water slides, games, prizes, raffles and a balloon artist. There will also be live music by The Mello Fellos.
SOUTH POINT: South Point, Ohio, will have its annual Party in the Park at the South Point Community Park on July 5. There will be a car show, eating contests, a cornhole tournament, food trucks, live music from several local artists and fireworks.
HUNTINGTON: Heritage Farm, 3300 Harvey Road in Huntington, will have a summer festival Saturday, July 5. The farm will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and the event will include live music and the regular offerings. Admission is free for infants ages 0-2 years old; $10 for children ages 3-12 years old; $12 for youth ages 13-17 years old; $14 for seniors ages 65 years older or older; and $17 for adults ages 18-64 years old. WAYNE: On Saturday, July 5, Wayne will have its Fourth of July/Independence Day celebration beginning at 5 p.m. at the Wayne town park, near the county health department on Kenova Avenue. The celebration will feature vendors for crafts and food, corn hole, a fire pit for making s人妖色情片檓ores beginning at 6 p.m., the Dunk the Mayor game at 6 p.m., live music from the band Avonek from 7-10 p.m. and fireworks at approximately 10 p.m. Those attending should bring a chair and/or blanket.
KENOVA: The Ceredo-Kenova Alumni Band人妖色情片檚 2025 Patriotic Concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at the Kenova Towne Square, at the intersection of 15th and Chestnut streets. Fireworks will be set off at dark 人妖色情片 around 9 p.m. 人妖色情片 on a barge on the Ohio River, according to Kenova Mayor Tim Bias.
CATLETTSBURG: During the Kenova Town Council人妖色情片檚 meeting June 19, it approved a donation to the City of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, for this 2025 Freedom Celebration. People can watch the fireworks from Virginia Point Park on Virginia Point Drive/23rd Street in Kenova. The park can be contacted at 304-690-5211.
GENOA: An event by the 5-30 Club人妖色情片檚 Donald Shepherd is planned for Friday, July 4-Sunday, July 6 at the Good Time Campground at 284 Radnor Hollow in Genoa, according to Howard Meddings, owner of the business. There will be guided trail rides July 4-6 (people should bring their own rides), and on July 5, Jason Jobe will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight, and fireworks that will be set off once it gets dark, Meddings said. CHARLESTON: An inaugural drone show takes place over the Kanawha River to close out the 2025 Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, from 9:30-10 p.m., at Haddad Riverfront Park.
