IRONTON ÈËÑýÉ«ÇéƬ” An Ironton-area man was indicted last week on 25 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person.
An indictment is a formal charge made against a person by a grand jury. It does not establish guilt or innocence.
Flint E. Topping, 53, of Township Road 181, Ironton, was named a defendant in the indictment. He is charged with abusing a child between Feb. 23, 2021, through June 3, 2024, in Lawrence County, according to the indictment.
Five of the charges were classified as felony 2, which carry a maximum sentence upon conviction of eight to 12 years in prison, and 20 of the charges were felony 4 counts of pandering in sexually oriented materials involving a minor or impaired person. The lesser charges carry a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison.
In other cases, Kayla Dawn Thompson, 29, of the 1000 block of Jefferson Avenue, Huntington, was indicted on charges of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility and possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
Also indicted were:
Kenneth Blanton, 48, of the 1000 block of Disterdick Lane, Ironton, was indicted on charges of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility or institution and possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
Sandra Kay Compston, 42, of County Road 1, South Point, was indicted on charges of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility or institution and aggravated possession of drugs (meth).
William Z. Earls, 37, of County Road 1, Chesapeake, was indicted on charges of strangulation and domestic violence.
Tony Lee Wilson II, 34, of County Road 5, Kitts Hill, was indicted on a charge of tampering with evidence.
Robert A. Erwin, 46, of Township Road 1335, South Point, was indicted on charges of having weapons while under disability and aggravated menacing.
