Flying Ashland

Old gasoline pumps at service stations had large glass signs known as globes on them to advertise the brand of gasoline they dispensed. This globe with the Flying Ashland logo was on display in a hotel in downtown Huntington in the 1990s. The photo was taken by the late Frank Altizer, a longtime photojournalist for The Herald-Dispatch, in 1999.
