Saratina Jackson topped four double-figure scorers to lead South Point to a 62-30 victory over Symmes Valley in the season-opening girls high school basketball game for both teams.
The contest was the first for Adams, the PointersÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™ coach, since early last season, when he stepped away after undergoing open heart surgery.
Josie Kidd backed Jackson with 12 points. Samiya Bradburn and Jasmyn Jones each scored 10 points.
The Pointers jumped to a 13-3 lead and expanded it to 27-9 by halftime. South Point then used a 25-12 run to dash any slim hopes Symmes Valley had of a comeback.
Lydia Saunders paced the Vikings with 17 points.

Kiersten Rose paced Southern with 19 points. Sydney Stout chipped in 11 points.
Shelby Yost scored seven points to lead Meigs.

CARPER HIRED AT CHILLICOTHE: Chillicothe (Ohio) High School hired former Marshall University defensive back T.J. Carper as head football coach Monday.
Carper, a former assistant at Cabell Midland, goes to the Cavaliers from Zanesville High, which went 0-10 last season. Before that, Carper coached at Vinton County, where he was 20-12 and led the Vikings to the playoffs all three seasons.
Carper, 35, played for the Thundering Herd from 2007 through 2011. He takes over for Scott Bartholomew at Chillicothe, which went 2-8 last season. Bartholomew is 176-110 in his career.
