Boyd County took a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter at Anderson Gym on Friday night, then held off AshlandÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™s charge to win 72-66.
Jackson Childers tallied 21 points as all five Lions (12-8 entering SaturdayÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™s game with Expression Prep) starters cracked double figures in scoring.
Cole Hicks contributed 15 points, Ethan Rardon netted 13, Rhett Holbrook pitched in 12 and Jacob Spurlock delivered 11.
Zander Carter scored 34 points for the Tomcats (13-6 going into SaturdayÈËÑýÉ«Ç鯬™s game against Bowling Green). Drew Smith, a Boyd County transfer, produced 14.
Carter and Smith each connected on four 3-pointers.
Ashland lost for the first time since its 3-5 start, seeing a 10-game win streak end. Boyd County has won seven of its last eight.

Childers totaled 15 points, Rardon 12 and Marcus Brumfield 11. Spurlock grabbed 11 rebounds.
Boyd County made 20 of 40 shots beyond the arc and 41 of 71 overall.
CHESAPEAKE 75, COAL GROVE 43: Maddox Kazee scored 31 points and Kaden Perkins 24 as the Panthers (16-1 overall, 10-0 Ohio Valley Conference) stomped the host Hornets (7-11, 2-10).
Chesapeake built a 33-16 lead and closed on a 20-6 run.
